BIG Stands for BIPOC Leadership in the Yoga Community
BIG Power Yoga stands for BIPOC leadership in the yoga community and is taking responsibility in helping to end systemic racism. We are a company and community committed to building studio and virtual spaces that are diverse, inclusive and celebratory for all. We acknowledge the under-representation of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in our community, in the greater yoga world, and the impact this has had on all of us. We are committed to changing this and moving into a new possibility of community and leadership together.
Our mission at BIG Power Yoga is to empower as many people as possible in living their biggest lives possible. In order for us to fulfill on this mission we must make yoga representative of BIPOC communities, accessible to all, and a diverse space that truly heals and transforms our systems and our hearts.
One place we are taking immediate action is with our BIG Teacher Empowerment Program (TEP); our 200hr yoga teacher training. To support our mission and to facilitate change BIG is offering BIPOC scholarships to anyone who self identifies as Black, Indigenous, or as a Person of Color.
We would love to have you join us if you share our commitment, if you feel that this could be a powerful opportunity for you and could support you in making the difference you want to make in the yoga community and the world.
