Yoga: Ahimsa and Community

Posted by Change Is Good on

The first of the Yamas, or outer disciplines, one of the key requirements of a Yoga practice is the work of Ahimsa. To act and be from nonviolence. Ahimsa is a responsibility the yogi takes on as an expressive choice -- from the inside out. From your individual self expressed on this earth, you can choose to practice ahimsa with all "others". In this way, you, the yogi, has a duty to bring love, union, and nonviolence to the human community.
