Who Rachael Is For You
Rachael is committed to showing up as her authentic self and always bringing the heat (both figuratively and literally)! You will leave her class sweaty, wrung out, and wildly empowered. She is a stand for the physical challenge of the practice shedding away whatever holds people back from their full power and potential. Getting out of your head and into your body allows the story we tell ourselves to be silenced temporarily, so we can choose where the narrative goes next, instead of being defined by it. Rachael teaches from the belief that by creating connection, laughter and unconditional support for her students- anything is possible. Everyone is welcome in her classes, and she holds the space for each individual to be empowered to do what is right for them, every time. Her classes will leave you feeling refreshed, strengthened and (of course) sweaty!
About Rachael
After practicing for over 14 years, Rachael finally made the leap to teaching. She fell in love with yoga in 2004, because it kept her grounded while training in theater in NYC, and she has been practicing ever since. Her exploration of yoga led her to study many different forms with many different teachers, and she loved it so much, she spent the better part of a year in India studying yoga, theater and dance. Experiencing the roots of yoga turned her into heated practices, eventually finding Baptiste several years ago. For her, Baptiste's philosophies and approach combined with their core belief that through physicalness comes possibility and empowerment encompassed what she wanted from a practice.
For her, yoga allows thoughts to melt away and her breathe to take over. Through that openness, she is continuing to discover her own power and authenticity, and wants to empower her students to experience their power and grace every time they come to their mat.
While originally from MA, she moved to Denver three years ago. After experiencing so much sunshine and natural beauty, she hopes to never leave. Rachael still does theater as a passion (Shakespeare to be specific), but for the past 8 years, her full-time job has been in healthcare technology. She runs the sales for a bad-ass healthcare software startup located in Tucson, AZ. She has been at BIG Power Yoga since the day it opened and completed BIG's 200-hour Teacher Empowerment Program. She loves this community and is thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to give back and participate in a new way.
Outside the studio, you can find Rachael spending time with her friends and family, especially her boyfriend and Golden-doodle, Doby, enjoying the mountains and sunshine of CO.
What Rachael's Students Say
Rachael is one of the best yoga instructors I have had to date and her classes will kick your butt! She is confident, clear, wise, and relate-able in her teaching, not to mention she gives incredible assists. Overall, I love taking Rachael's classes because I learn something new every class and know that I will leave feeling inspired and empowered. I find Rachael's classes to have the perfect mix of philosophy and physical instruction; there is always a clear message to take off the mat, but the focus of the class is on the creation of the physical poses.
